Job summary

Optus is seeking a Principal Technical Specialist, Telco IP Core to shape architectural direction and lead governance for the IP Core and IP Modernisation programs. You will provide strategic technical leadership across Network Engineering, guiding standards, change processes, and cross-group collaboration.

You’ll chair reviews, mentor engineers and engage with vendors to ensure solutions meet architecture principles, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice.

Qualifications

Extensive IP core engineering experience with leadership exposure.
Bachelor’s degree in CS or EE; a Master’s or CCNP/CCIE is a plus.
Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and Telco IP Core governance.

Responsibilities

Define and drive architectural guidelines for Telco IP Core network.
Chair governance boards and ensure alignment with standards.
Provide authoritative guidance to Engineering, Architecture and Operations teams.
Engage vendors and partners to evaluate fit of solutions.
Mentor senior engineers and build technical capability.
Represent IP Core strategy in cross-functional forums.
