Comprising more than 120 professionals globally, across regional offices and technology centres, the team collaborates closely with operating businesses to ensure the quality of our fuel throughout the entire supply chain—from our refineries and third-party suppliers to individual drivers and business customers.

The role will cover proactive Quality Assurance and reactive Technical Services in the bp Australian and New Zealand operational network.

You will deliver:

You will become a subject matter expert in fuel (diesel, jet, gasoline) and provide technical services and quality assurance advice on bp’s supply chains to ensure our fuels remain legal, on-spec and fit-for-purpose. The advice and direction you give will be pragmatic, balancing risk and value to both commercial and product quality expectations.

You will actively participate in bp’s product quality networks to discuss product quality issues, report incidents, share procedures and lessons learned from incidents with the intent of ensuring our supply chains operations deliver on-spec fuel reliably. You will contribute to projects, day-to-day activity, solving customer problems, product quality investigations, and be actively aware of applicable state and federal laws.

You will participate in a structured audit program focusing on the business processes of terminal operators and other service providers, with the aim of verifying quality standards are consistently maintained.

You will travel within ANZ from time to time. You may be required to join global calls periodically outside a usual working day. You will join the 24/7 product quality on call roster, which rotates across team members once every 5-6 weeks. On the roster, you will respond to urgent product quality concerns from across the supply chain by providing expert direction and advice in a timely and professional manner.

Experience in product quality or product management of fuel industry supply chains (including fuel manufacture, distribution and its use in engines) along with knowledge of specifications, laboratory testing and test methods is essential. You will need to apply this experience and knowledge to many situations. In support of our fuel supply chains and customers, it is vital that you are not only technically proficient but possess strong collaboration and interpersonal communication skills suitable for different stakeholders and cultures.

You will need to show initiative, resilience and be able to lead constantly evolving priorities.
