Job summary

Auto & General (A&G) is seeking a Technical Motor Claims consultant in Australia. The role involves handling complex motor claims, reviewing coverage and exclusions, and ensuring claims progress through internal processes.

You will manage sensitive, high-value files and liaise with multiple stakeholders to reach fair resolutions. The incumbent will perform detailed claim reviews, maintain accurate reserves, and stay informed about evolving insurance regulations.

Qualifications

• Investigation experience in insurance claims preferred.
• Strong insurance claims knowledge.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation abilities.
• Understanding of legislative and regulatory obligations in the FSR environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of complicated or unusual motor claims files.
• End-to-end management of a portfolio of complex, high-value claims.
• Review claims for acceptance in line with ICA, PDS and prior to dispute resolution.
• Manage existing claims to support customers within policy entitlements, arrange repairs and oversee lifecycle of claims.
• Accurate reserving, claims validations, cost management, and negotiations with stakeholders.
• Identify and raise potential risks or compliance issues to Management.
• Perform Day-1 reviews of retained claims and stay updated on regulatory changes.
• Assist Team Leader/Head of Fraud & Claims investigations with additional projects.
