Auto & General (A&G) is seeking a Technical Motor Claims consultant in Australia. The role involves handling complex motor claims, reviewing coverage and exclusions, and ensuring claims progress through internal processes.

You will manage sensitive, high-value files and liaise with multiple stakeholders to reach fair resolutions. The incumbent will perform detailed claim reviews, maintain accurate reserves, and stay informed about evolving insurance regulations.

Competenze

• Investigation experience in insurance claims preferred.
• Strong insurance claims knowledge.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation abilities.
• Understanding of legislative and regulatory obligations in the FSR environment.

• Manage a portfolio of complicated or unusual motor claims files.
• End-to-end management of a portfolio of complex, high-value claims.
• Review claims for acceptance in line with ICA, PDS and prior to dispute resolution.
• Manage existing claims to support customers within policy entitlements, arrange repairs and oversee lifecycle of claims.
• Accurate reserving, claims validations, cost management, and negotiations with stakeholders.
• Identify and raise potential risks or compliance issues to Management.
• Perform Day-1 reviews of retained claims and stay updated on regulatory changes.
• Assist Team Leader/Head of Fraud & Claims investigations with additional projects.

About the r ole

As a Technical Motor Claims consultant, you will be dealing predominantly with claims where there is a level of complexity, non-disclosure, policy exclusions and where conditions of cover have not been met so require further review.

Position Accountabilities

• Managing a portfolio of complicated or unusual motor claims files.
• End to end management of a portfolio of complex, high value and sensitive claims.
• Reviewing each referred claim for acceptance in line with the ICA, PDS and prior to internal dispute resolution or Ombudsman determination.
• Manage existing claims to provide support to customers within policy entitlements, organisation of repairs & management throughout the claims life.
• Accurate reserving, claims validations, manage claims costs, and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders.
• Identifying and raising potential risks or compliance issues to Management
• Perform detailed review of retained claims and complete a Day-1 review of all claims.
• Stay up to date on regulatory changed in the insurance industry that is relevant.
• Assist TMC Team Leader and/or Head of Fraud & Claims investigations with additional projects or tasks where required.

• Ability to develop strong relationships at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders coupled with a high level of emotional intelligence.
• Broad ability to drive for results, focus on outcomes and well-developed negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively engage, influence and develop others
• Well developed and demonstrated understanding of the legislative, regulatory and compliance obligations to operate in the FSR environment
• Location – This role can be based at our either Kawana or North Lakes office.
