Job summary

Tomago Aluminium is seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical & Business Improvement Advisor to join our Business Improvement team. This role partners with operations, maintenance and technical teams to identify opportunities, challenge current practices and deliver meaningful improvements.

You will lead cross-functional initiatives, influence technical decision-making through analysis and benchmarking, and connect people, processes and technology to drive performance and long-term

Qualifications

• Significant experience in technical, operational excellence or business improvement roles.
• Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional projects.
• Strong change management and stakeholder engagement capability.
• Experience implementing Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.

About The Role

We're seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical & Business Improvement Advisor to join our Business Improvement team. This is a unique opportunity to influence technical strategy, drive operational excellence, and lead meaningful improvement initiatives that support the long-term sustainability of our business.

Reporting to the Technical & Business Improvement Manager, you'll partner with leaders across operations, maintenance and technical teams to identify opportunities, challenge current practices and deliver meaningful business improvements.

Acting as a trusted advisor, you'll connect people, processes and technology to improve performance, support innovation and help position Tomago for long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic business improvement initiatives across the site
• Facilitate continuous improvement projects that deliver measurable business outcomes
• Coach leaders and teams in Lean, problem-solving and business improvement methodologies
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational performance and efficiency
• Influence technical decision-making through analysis, benchmarking and best-practice recommendations
• Develop strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
• Evaluate emerging technologies and technical innovations that support Tomago’s future success.

About You

You are a strategic thinker who enjoys solving complex problems and influencing outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups. You bring both technical credibility and strong change leadership skills and are passionate about creating lasting improvements. To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Significant experience in technical, operational excellence, continuous improvement or business improvement roles
• Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional projects
• Strong change management and stakeholder engagement capability
• Experience implementing Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across multiple business functions
• Strong facilitation, communicate and relationship building skills
• A practical solutions-focused approach with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational execution
• Experience within heavy industry, manufacturing, processing, mining, metals or similar environments will be highly regarded
