Tomago Aluminium is seeking a commercially focused Finance Business Partner to join our manufacturing team in Newcastle. You will provide insightful financial analysis, support strategic investments and partner with operational leaders to drive cost leadership and performance improvements.

You will contribute to budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

• Commercial thinker with strong analytical capability.
• Experience turning financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
• Experience in FP&A, management accounting or similar roles.

Finance Business Partner - Manufacturing

About the Role: Tomago Aluminium is seeking a commercially focused Finance Business Partner to join our team. Working closely with operational and technical leaders, you'll provide the insight, analysis and support needed to improve business performance, influence key decisions and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

Working across a complex industrial environment, you'll identify opportunities for improvement, support strategic investments and help shape the future of one of Australia's largest manufacturing operations, contributing to Tomago Aluminium's long-term success and transition to a more sustainable energy future.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

• Identify opportunities to improve cost performance and support cost leadership initiatives through analysis of cost drivers, performance trends and operational data
• Partner with leaders to improve business performance and financial outcomes
• Deliver financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Provide insights into cost drivers, operational performance and key business trends
• Support monthly end‑of‑month reporting, including accruals, journals and management reporting
• Assist with the development of annual budgets and regular operational forecasts
• Build and evaluate business cases for projects, capital investments and operational initiatives
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and financial reporting
• Translate financial information into clear, actionable insights for non‑financial stakeholders
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that support business performance and cost leadership.

As a Finance Business Partner, you'll help evaluate investment opportunities, support strategic decision‑making and work with leaders to manage the financial impacts of transformational projects that will shape the future of our business.

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability
• The ability to influence and build trusted relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
• Experience supporting business performance through financial, operational, engineering or commercial analysis
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex information into practical insights
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and identifying opportunities for better outcomes
• Experience in Finance Business Partnering, FP&A, Management Accounting, Engineering, Commercial Analysis or a similar role

Highly regarded

• Qualifications in Finance, Commerce, Engineering, Economics, Business or a related discipline
• CA or CPA qualification (or progress towards completion
• Experience with SAP, TM1, Power BI, Cognos or similar business systems
