South32 seeks a Responsible Tailings Facility Engineer for the Worsley Alumina Refinery in Western Australia. This permanent role operates on a 9-day fortnight and focuses on ensuring the integrity of the tailings and water storage facilities during operation, construction and closure.

You will monitor performance, manage risks, and implement the Tailings Management System, liaising with cross-functional teams to safeguard safety and compliance.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 10 years in design, construction, operation and monitoring of tailings facilities and water dams.
• Tailings dam design, construction or operations experience.
• Consulting background across varied settings/ops.
• Extensive knowledge of tailings and water storage facilities.
• Understanding of technical standards and regulations.
• Ability to communicate with and influence operations and engineering staff.
• Auditing and training skills.

Aufgaben

• Accountable for the integrity of TSFs during operation, construction and closure.
• Implement and maintain Tailings Management System (GISTM compliance).
• Provide updates to senior management on safety and performance of TSFs.
• Liaise with EOR/DOR, construction, operations, planning, governance, regulatory affairs, social performance and environment teams.
• Design implementation of TSFs and plan remedial works.
• Define and develop project deliverables for tailings expansion, deposition and dam safety projects.
• Oversee water management of TSF and related infrastructure.
• Lead monitoring of TSF and water dam performance.
• Maintain OMS Manual and related documents.
