BHP Group in Adelaide is seeking a Principal Tailings Engineer to lead tailings governance and strategic direction across Copper SA. You will drive dam safety, TSF management and engineering governance while mentoring teams and collaborating with Engineers of Record and global centres of excellence.

The role is based in Adelaide with a Monday–Friday roster, offering leadership in a dynamic mining environment and opportunities to influence long-term tailings strategy.

Competenze

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Geotechnical, Mining, Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in mining, resources or heavy industry with tailings and dam safety.
• Experience coaching, mentoring and technical leadership.
• Strong safety leadership and risk-based decision making.
• Experience with Engineers of Record (EoR) and Registered Dam Engineers (RDE).
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive change in complex environments.
• Knowledge of TSF management, governance and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical info.
