Job summary

Itron is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Managed Services team in Australia. This role focuses on application support, incident management, and keeping customer-facing production environments reliable across Windows and Linux.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate with product teams and customers to ensure timely resolutions. Weekend on-call rotations and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience supporting enterprise applications or IT systems.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Working knowledge of SQL, with data querying and analysis capability.
• Understanding of system administration fundamentals, including TCP/IP networking, DNS, firewalls, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide application management, administration, and operational support for production environments.
• Investigate and resolve customer-reported incidents and service requests.
• Perform root cause analysis for application, infrastructure, and integration issues.
• Manage support cases through their full lifecycle, ensuring timely updates and resolution.
• Monitor system health, performance, and service availability.
• Troubleshoot issues involving operating systems, networking, databases, and application components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive issue resolution and service improvements.
• Document troubleshooting findings, procedures, and operational best practices.
• Participate in scheduled weekend on-call rotations.
