Job summary

Itron, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Australia to join the Managed Services team. The role focuses on application support across Windows and Linux environments, handling incidents, troubleshooting complex issues, and maintaining production environments.

You will work with customers, product teams, and technical specialists to ensure reliable service delivery. Responsibilities include incident management, root cause analysis, and weekend on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience supporting enterprise applications or IT systems.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Working knowledge of SQL, including the ability to query and analyze data.
• Understanding of system administration fundamentals, including TCP/IP networking, common protocols and ports, DNS, firewalls, and connectivity troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Provide application management, administration, and operational support for production environments.
• Investigate and resolve customer-reported incidents and service requests.
• Perform root cause analysis for application, infrastructure, and integration issues.
• Manage support cases through their full lifecycle, ensuring timely updates and resolution.
• Monitor system health, performance, and service availability.
• Troubleshoot issues involving operating systems, networking, databases, and application components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive issue resolution and service improvements.
• Document troubleshooting findings, procedures, and operational best practices.
• Participate in scheduled weekend on-call rotations.
