Job summary

Akuna Capital in Sydney is seeking a Trade Support Engineer to own the production environment for our proprietary trading systems. You will install, manage, optimise, and troubleshoot critical components, collaborating across Development, Trading, and Infrastructure teams.

You will drive the release process, automate workflows, scale monitoring, and contribute to incident response while staying aligned with fast-paced market demands. On-call availability may be required outside core hours.

Qualifications

• Linux expertise with strong command line navigation and automation.
• Scripting proficiency with Python, Bash and databases structures.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Collaborative team player with cross-office capabilities.
• Ability to make quick, sound decisions in high-pressure environments.
• Willingness to work outside core hours or on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-office support to trading teams using proprietary systems.
• Troubleshoot issues with Development, Trading and Infrastructure teams.
• Own the release process for upgrades to core trading software.
• Configure and manage production trading applications across desktop and server environments.
• Automate workflows and build secure pipelines; scale monitoring.
