Job summary

Raytheon Australia is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join the SRGBAD Support Program at the Mawson Lakes facility. You will help sustain and enhance Ground Based Air Defence capabilities, contributing to future launcher technologies and capability evolution.

The role involves system lifecycle activities, integration, verification and collaboration with Defence stakeholders and international partners to deliver robust engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree or higher in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Systems/Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Defence, aerospace, military vehicle, missile, launcher, weapons, or complex systems environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to conduct technical investigations and implement practical engineering solutions.
• Experience applying Systems Engineering across the lifecycle including integration, verification and validation.

Responsibilities

• Support ongoing sustainment and operation of equipment across the SRGBAD capability.
• Develop and implement engineering changes, capability upgrades and product improvements; support new capabilities from concept through design, integration and verification.
• Review technical publications, engineering data packages and supplier documentation to support capability management activities.
• Contribute to reliability, maintainability and obsolescence management initiatives for long-term sustainability.
• Engage with Defence stakeholders and partners to deliver effective engineering solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers as required.
• Undertake travel within Australia and internationally to support project requirements.
