Job summary

Raytheon Australia is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer to join the SRGBAD Support Program based at Mawson Lakes. You will help sustain NASAMS launcher systems and contribute to launcher capability evolution.

You will work with Defence, international partners, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable technical solutions that improve readiness and performance. The role spans the full lifecycle from concept through fielded capability, with potential international travel.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical, mechatronics, systems or electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in defence/aerospace/launcher or complex systems environments.
• Experience applying systems engineering across the lifecycle.
• Experience with electro-mechanical systems, vehicle-mounted or weapons systems.
• Knowledge of integration, verification and validation processes.
• Ability to lead investigations and develop practical solutions.
• Understanding of configuration management and engineering governance.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in Defence environment is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of NASAMS or missile/launcher tech is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support ongoing sustainment and operation of NASAMS launcher systems.
• Conduct technical investigations and root-cause analysis for launcher issues.
• Develop and implement engineering changes and capability upgrades.
• Support development of new launcher capabilities from concept to verification.
• Maintain systems engineering artefacts (requirements, interfaces, design docs).
• Contribute to integration activities across launcher subsystems and interfaces.
• Support verification, validation and acceptance testing of upgrades.
• Review publications and supplier data to support capability management.
• Contribute to reliability, obsolescence management and safety processes.
• Engage with Defence, international partners and suppliers; mentor junior engineers.
• Travel within Australia and internationally as required.
