Job summary

Raytheon Australia is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join the SRGBAD Support Program at the Mawson Lakes facility. You will help sustain and enhance Ground Based Air Defence capabilities, contributing to future launcher technologies and capability evolution.

The role involves system lifecycle activities, integration, verification and collaboration with Defence stakeholders and international partners to deliver robust engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree or higher in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Systems/Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Defence, aerospace, military vehicle, missile, launcher, weapons, or complex systems environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to conduct technical investigations and implement practical engineering solutions.
• Experience applying Systems Engineering across the lifecycle including integration, verification and validation.

Right now, we are experiencing exciting growth and are seeking a motivated and experienced Systems Engineers to join the Short-Range Ground Based Air Defence (SRGBAD) Support Program based at the Centre for Joint Integration facility in Mawson Lakes.

The SRGBAD Support Program sustains and enhances the Australian Army's Ground based air defence capability, ensuring it remains operationally effective against current and emerging threats. The program is entering an exciting phase of capability evolution, where cutting-edge technology, systems integration and capability growth are converging to deliver the next generation of Ground Based Air Defence capability

As a Systems Engineer , you will support the operation, sustainment and continuous improvement of Air Defence systems, contributing to the development of future enhancements and new product initiatives including: Effector Launch platforms Remote Weapons Stations Electro-Optic Systems Command and Control Systems.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant engineering experience in Defence, aerospace, military vehicle, missile, launcher, weapons, or complex systems environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to conduct technical investigations and develop and implement practical engineering solutions.
• Demonstrated experience applying Systems Engineering principles across the system lifecycle including integration, verification and validation processes for complex systems.
• Understanding of configuration management, technical governance and engineering assurance processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of NASAMS, ground-based air defence systems, missile systems, launcher technologies or metric vehicle integration is highly regarded.

Security Requirements

Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance.
