Job summary

Pathfinder Recruitment is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a Melbourne MSP client with a strong focus on O365 and Intune. The role will be 2 days from home and 3 days in the office, handling Level 3 BAU and projects.

You’ll lead the technical way for Microsoft 365, drive automation, migrations and successful deployments across clients, while mentoring junior engineers and maintaining security/compliance posture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in systems engineering or senior support roles.
• Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 suite and Intune.
• Strong Azure AD knowledge (conditional access, identity protection, hybrid identity).
• Experience delivering M365/Intune projects and migrations.
• Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
• Strong stakeholder, client-facing and mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead BAU support for Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure AD) and Intune endpoint management.
• Design, implement and optimise Intune device and application management policies (Windows, iOS, Android, macOS).
• Deliver M365/Intune projects: migrations, new tenancy setups, device lifecycle, conditional access and Zero Trust controls.
• Troubleshoot complex issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
• Create runbooks, automation (PowerShell/Graph), monitoring and reporting to improve operational efficiency.
• Lead technical workshops, stakeholder engagement and handovers to BAU.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical governance and best-practice guidance.
• Maintain security/compliance posture: Conditional Access, MFA.

Growing MSP based in the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with a strong focus on O365. The role will be 2 days from home and 3 from the office and requires someone who has experience working across Level 3 BAU and Projects.

The role

You’ll be the go-to technical lead for O365 and Intune, driving stable operations, automation, and successful migrations/implementations across clients.

Key responsibilities

Lead BAU support for Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure AD) and Intune endpoint management.

Required skills & experience

5+ years’ experience in systems engineering or senior support roles.

Deep hands on experience with Microsoft 365 suite and Intune (device compliance, app deployment, configuration profiles, autopilot).

Strong Azure AD knowledge (conditional access, identity protection, hybrid identity).
