Job summary

AECOM in Sydney, Australia, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer (NSQEP) to deliver structural and seismic designs for defence, research and nuclear facilities. Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 6+ years' experience in structural engineering, preferably with complex buildings or safety-critical projects.
• Experience in defence, research, nuclear or other highly regulated environments is desirable.
• Knowledge of Australian and international structural, seismic and nuclear design standards.
• Proficiency in ETABS, SpaceGass, RAPT and FEA software.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills within multidisciplinary teams.
• Chartered status or equivalent accreditation is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural and seismic design for complex buildings and safety-critical facilities within defence, research and nuclear sectors.
• Undertake advanced structural analysis, including seismic assessment, dynamic analysis and modelling.
• Prepare technical calculations, reports and design documentation per project requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
• Support development of nuclear safety cases, regulatory submissions and technical justifications.
• Ensure compliance with relevant Australian and international standards.
• Contribute to technical excellence through reviews, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
