Job summary

Glencore Mount Isa Mines is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead remediation and demolition projects across surface operations. You will supervise defect remediation, planning, and contractor coordination with a focus on safety and quality.

The role requires extensive experience in mining/industrial settings, strong risk assessment skills, and ability to deliver projects on time and within budget at the Mt Isa site.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting existing structures and assessing defects.
• Ability to develop practical remediation solutions for use in operating plants.
• Strong risk-based decision making and prioritisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the inspection, assessment, scoping and remediation plans for structural defects.
• Manage a portfolio of defects with risk-based priorities and scheduling.
• Group and sequence remediation works to improve efficiency and reduce mobilisation.
• Coordinate with Project Construction Supervisors and contractors for safe planning and execution.
• Provide engineering oversight during construction, ensuring designs and quality standards are met.
• Monitor progress, budgets and risks; report to stakeholders and management.
• Conduct field inspections, risk assessments and Visible Field Leadership for safety.
