Job summary

Glencore Australia seeks a Principal – Structural Integrity Engineer to lead structural integrity and remediation across its Australian assets. The role can be Brisbane-based with travel to MT Isa or a Brisbane-based 8/6 FIFO roster, on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

You will guide technical strategy, mentor teams, and drive continuous improvement across multiple sites to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer status or actively working towards registration.
• 10+ years’ experience in structural engineering within mining, heavy industry or processing environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to site-based engineering teams in structural integrity and remediation.
• Ensure alignment with Group Structural Failure Safety Standard across sites and business groups.
• Review and prioritise structural defects and remediation programs based on risk and resources.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in inspection, assessment, and remediation processes.
• Develop practical, risk-based solutions to support safe and reliable asset performance.
• Provide technical oversight of assessments, remediation scopes, designs and recommendations.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting for visibility of structural integrity performance.
• Monitor program progress and report to site, business group and corporate stakeholders.
• Share lessons learned and promote leading practices across the business.
