Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our Sustaining Capital team in Perth, WA, delivering structural solutions for brownfield mining projects. You’ll design, check and modify structures across conveyors, chutes and foundations while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

You should bring a strong background in mining/industrial projects, Australian standards, and the ability to work independently with engineers, designers and clients in a hybrid Perth environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Significant experience as a Structural Engineer within mining, minerals processing or heavy industrial projects.
• Strong background in EPCM or engineering consultancy environments.
• Knowledge of Australian structural design standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural engineering and design across brownfield mining and minerals processing projects.
• Design and check structural steelwork, reinforced concrete and foundations.
• Work across conveyors, transfer stations, crushing and screening structures, chutes, pipe racks, platforms and equipment support structures.
• Assess existing structures and develop modification, remediation and strengthening solutions.
• Provide engineering support through design, fabrication and construction and review structural models, drawings and vendor information.
• Respond to technical queries and work closely with designers, engineers, contractors and client teams.
• Check and review the work of other engineers and provide technical guidance where required.
