Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its Mining & Metals team in Western Australia. You will lead mechanical packages across studies and detailed design, supporting brownfield and sustaining capital projects for Tier 1 mining clients.

You'll mentor engineers, engage stakeholders, and contribute to procurement and construction support activities in a dynamic mining environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years' experience within mining, mineral processing or industrial projects.
• Strong consulting experience across studies, detailed design and project delivery.
• Knowledge of pipelines, pumping systems, slurry handling and process plant infrastructure.
• Exposure to materials handling systems, process equipment and piping design.
• Strong understanding of procurement, vendor management and construction support activities.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Chartered status or progress toward Chartership will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Delivering mechanical engineering packages across studies, design and project execution phases.
• Providing technical leadership and engineering expertise on multidisciplinary mining and processing projects.
• Developing engineering deliverables including reports, specifications, calculations and technical documentation.
• Collaborating closely with process, civil, structural, electrical and project delivery teams to develop integrated engineering solutions.
• Engaging with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver practical, fit-for-purpose outcomes.
• Supporting project planning, risk management, cost estimation and engineering governance activities.
• Contributing to the successful delivery of brownfield and sustaining capital projects within operating mining environments.
• Mentoring and supporting developing engineers while contributing to a strong engineering culture.
