Job summary

Primero seeks a Lead Structural Engineer to drive design across mining and mineral processing projects. Based at our Perth office, you’ll lead multidisciplinary teams from concept to commissioning, ensuring designs align with budget and schedule while meeting safety and quality standards.

You will mentor juniors, engage with clients and vendors, and apply Space Gass/Strand7 tools to deliver robust, fit-for-purpose structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering (IE Aust) or equivalent.
• 10+ years’ structural engineering experience in mining/mineral processing.
• Proven leadership of design teams on small to medium projects.
• Knowledge of design theories, standards and codes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural engineering design solutions for mining, mineral processing, and resource projects.
• Lead structural engineering and design teams on small to medium projects.
• Undertake structural design on projects.
• Ensure designs comply with legislation, standards, client and project requirements.
• Ensure designs meet budget and schedule constraints.
• Ensure designs are fit-for-purpose in cost, constructability, operability and maintainability.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for integrated outcomes.
• Engage with clients, vendors and stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Assist with studies and tenders and mentor junior engineers.
