Job summary

BG&E Minerals is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to join our design team. You will undertake detailed analysis and design to ensure safety, compliance and constructability on mining and minerals projects across Australia and New Zealand.

With 5–10 years' experience and a strong grasp of Australian standards, you will develop buildable solutions, coordinate with site teams and stakeholders, and contribute to tendering and project delivery.

Qualifications

• BEng or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering
• 5-10 years industry experience
• Solid understanding of Australian standards and construction safety principles
• Skilled in structural analysis software and able to produce clear, accurate documentation
• Proven experience in developing practical, buildable solutions under site constraints
• Strong communication and coordination with site teams and contractors

Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed analysis and structural design to ensure safety, compliance, and constructability
• Assess the behaviour and performance of materials under construction-stage conditions
• Develop and advise on construction methodologies and sequencing plans in consultation with site teams and contractors
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and consultants to deliver coordinated solutions
• Review technical reports, drawings, and design calculations for quality and accuracy
• Prepare / Assist with the tendering and winning of work
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other project stakeholders as required for the delivery of projects
• Apply project management principles in carrying out assigned tasks and achieve project deliverables to the required standard and in a timely manner
• Prepare and review technical reports
• Identify and manage technical and commercial risks on behalf of BG&E and our clients
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and actively participate in interdisciplinary workshops and risk assessments as required
• Ensure that all work is undertaken in accordance with the appropriate legislation, relevant standards, corporate requirements and systems
• Represent BG&E Minerals and instil confidence in our clients and external stakeholders of the value we bring
