Job summary

BG&E Minerals, part of the SYSTRA Group, is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to lead detailed analysis, design and safety compliance for mining and minerals projects in Australia.

You will apply Australian standards, coordinate with site teams, and develop practical buildable solutions under site constraints, with flexible work arrangements and a path to professional growth within BG&E's global network.

Qualifications

• BEng or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering required.
• 5-10 years for Senior or 10+ years for Lead roles.
• Solid understanding of Australian standards and construction safety.
• Skilled in structural analysis software and clear documentation.
• Proven ability to develop practical, buildable solutions under site constraints.
• Strong communication and coordination with site teams and contractors.
• Proactive, hands-on approach to solving engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed analysis and structural design for safety and constructability.
• Assess materials behaviour under construction-stage conditions.
• Develop construction methodologies and sequencing plans with site teams.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers and consultants for coordinated solutions.
• Review technical reports, drawings and calculations for quality.
• Prepare/assist with tendering and winning work.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and project stakeholders.
• Apply project management principles to deliverables on time.
• Prepare and review technical reports.
• Identify and manage technical and commercial risks for BG&E and clients.
• Coordinate with other disciplines in interdisciplinary workshops and risk assessments.
• Ensure work complies with legislation, standards and systems.
• Represent BG&E Minerals and instil client confidence.
