Job summary

BG&E Minerals Pty Ltd is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to establish and grow the structural capability for mining projects in Queensland. You will lead design and analysis, liaise with clients and regulators, and manage multi-disciplinary teams across site and office environments.

The role requires a BEng or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering with 10–15 years’ experience, strong knowledge of Australian standards, and a hands-on, solutions-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• BEng or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering
• 10–15 years of industry experience
• Solid understanding of Australian standards and construction safety principles
• Proven ability to produce clear, accurate documentation
• Ability to develop practical, buildable solutions under site constraints
• Strong communication and coordination with site teams and contractors
• Proactive, hands-on engineering approach
• Strong relationships with clients and stakeholders in Queensland

Responsibilities

• Develop and advise construction methodologies and sequencing plans with site teams and contractors
• Undertake detailed analysis and structural design for safety, compliance and constructability
• Assess behaviour of materials under construction-stage conditions
• Collaborate with engineers, designers and consultants to deliver coordinated solutions
• Review technical reports, drawings and design calculations for quality
• Prepare and assist with tendering and winning work
• Liaise with clients and authorities for project delivery
• Apply project management to deliverables, budgets and resources
