GHD is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Queensland Bridges team, ideally based in Cairns. You will deliver practical structural solutions across bridges, transport and civil infrastructure while taking ownership of project delivery and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years industry experience as a Structural Engineer.
• Membership of Engineers Australia and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) preferred, or equivalent accreditation.
• Structural design and analysis experience across bridges and civil infrastructure.
• Experience with Australian Standards and industry requirements.
• Strong technical judgement and ability to develop safe, practical solutions.
• Experience coordinating project delivery including scope, programme, budget and documentation.
• Clear communication with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the analysis, design and documentation of bridges and other civil structures.
• Deliver projects from concept and detailed design through to construction support and site activities.
• Work across a varied portfolio including road/rail bridges, marine infrastructure and water-retaining structures.
• Undertake condition assessments and develop strengthening/upgrade solutions.
• Coordinate inputs across multidisciplinary projects and liaise with clients and contractors.
• Manage technical quality, budgets, programmes and project risks.
• Build client relationships and contribute to proposals and new project opportunities.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and designers.
