Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Queensland Bridges team in Cairns or other Queensland locations. You’ll lead the analysis, design and documentation of bridges and civil structures, delivering projects from concept through construction support while mentoring developing engineers.

You will collaborate with clients and contractors across transport, water and broader civil infrastructure, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and delivering practical, constructible

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of industry experience as a Structural Engineer.
• Membership of Engineers Australia and RPEQ preferred or equivalent accreditation.
• Demonstrated structural design and analysis experience across bridges and civil infrastructure.
• Experience delivering projects per Australian Standards and industry requirements.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis, design and documentation of bridges and civil structures.
• Deliver projects from concept to construction support.
• Work across road/rail bridges, marine infrastructure, water structures.
• Undertake condition assessments and develop strengthening solutions.
• Coordinate inputs across multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage budgets, programmes and project risks.
• Build client relationships and contribute to proposals.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
