Job summary

GHD Group is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Queensland Bridges team, ideally based in Cairns. You will deliver practical structural solutions across bridges, transport, water and civil infrastructure projects throughout Queensland, taking ownership of project delivery and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years as Structural Engineer.
• RPEQ or CPEng preferred, or ability to obtain.
• Experience in bridges and civil infrastructure design/analysis.
• Experience with Australian Standards and industry requirements.
• Strong technical judgement for safe, constructible solutions.
• Experience coordinating delivery: scope, programme, budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis, design and documentation of bridges and civil structures.
• Deliver projects from concept through construction support.
• Work on road/rail bridges, marine infrastructure and water structures.
• Undertake condition assessments and develop strengthening solutions.
• Coordinate structural inputs across multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage budgets, programmes and project risks.
• Build client relationships and contribute to proposals.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
