Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Queensland Bridges team, ideally based in Cairns. You will deliver practical structural solutions across bridges and civil infrastructure, mentor junior engineers and help grow the Cairns capability while connecting to a wider national technical network.

Key duties include leading design and analysis, coordinating multidisciplinary inputs, managing budgets and risk, and nurturing client relationships to identify new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a Structural Engineer.
• Membership of Engineers Australia and RPEQ preferred or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to analysis, design and documentation of bridges and other civil structures.
• Deliver projects from concept and detailed design through to construction support and site activities.
• Work across diverse portfolios including bridges, marine, water-retaining structures and other infrastructure.
• Undertake condition assessments and develop strengthening and asset-upgrade solutions.
• Coordinate structural inputs across multidisciplinary projects and with clients and contractors.
• Manage technical quality, budgets, programmes and project risks.
• Build client relationships and contribute to proposals and new opportunities.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and designers.
