Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking a Senior Finance Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Sydney. You will partner with senior leaders, providing strategic financial insight, challenge and performance management to drive business decisions.

Responsibilities include leading monthly reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling, while mentoring the finance team and driving process improvements. A strong background in professional services and CA/CPA is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in commercial finance, financial management or management accounting.
• Professional services experience essential; consulting/agency/engineering backgrounds highly relevant.
• Strong commercial finance and business partnering capability.
• Proven experience partnering with senior executives and business leaders.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and analytical skills.
• Confident challenging senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes.
• Advanced Excel and experience with planning/reporting systems such as Jedox or equivalent.
• Strong interest in AI, automation, data and the future of finance.
• CA/CPA or equivalent qualification highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly financial reporting, forecasting and performance analysis.
• Act as a trusted commercial finance advisor to senior stakeholders.
• Challenge assumptions and influence financial performance and decision-making.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles.
• Develop financial models and analysis to support strategic initiatives.
• Identify financial risks, opportunities and emerging performance trends.
• Provide insight across revenue, profitability, WIP, debtors and pipeline.
• Prepare executive-level reporting, commentary and briefing materials.
• Support pricing, client profitability and broader performance improvement initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems and reporting.
• Mentor and develop finance team members.
