Job summary

Sutherland Shire Council is seeking a Senior Development Engineer – Stormwater and Flooding to assess development proposals and evaluate environmental and engineering impacts. You will prepare and review engineering plans and provide specialist advice on flooding and water quality as part of project teams.

You will mentor junior staff, contribute technical expertise, and may act as team leader on occasions.

Qualifications

• Strong background in civil or environmental engineering with extensive stormwater/flooding experience.
• Proficient in hydraulic and hydrologic software for assessments and modelling.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Assess development proposals and evaluate environmental and engineering impacts.
• Prepare and review engineering plans for stormwater and flooding considerations.
• Provide specialist advice on flooding and water quality to project teams.
• Mentor junior staff and, at times, act as team leader.
