Job summary

Sutherland Shire Council is seeking a Senior Stormwater Engineer to lead long-term asset management and planning for stormwater infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, strategy and asset management, guiding investment and resilience across the city’s waterways.

Reporting to the Coordinator Asset Management and Waterways, you will deliver asset management strategies, capital programs and lifecycle plans while advising on technical stormwater and flood issues.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in stormwater, flood, civil infrastructure or asset management.
• Experience managing asset portfolios and long-term planning.
• Strong analytical skills to translate technical data into strategy.
• Experience preparing technical reports, tender docs and business cases.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement stormwater asset management strategies and plans.
• Lead lifecycle planning, scenario modelling and long-term investment forecasting.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, resilience and service outcomes.
• Prepare annual and multi-year capital works and maintenance programs.
• Initiate and scope infrastructure projects including business cases and budgets.
• Manage consultants and contractors for specialist projects.
