Sutherland Shire Council is seeking a Senior Development Engineer – Stormwater and Flooding in Sydney. You will assess development proposals for environmental and engineering impacts, prepare and review plans, and provide specialist advice on flooding and water quality.

The Senior Development Engineer – Stormwater and Flooding will play a crucial role in assessing development proposals to evaluate their environmental and engineering impacts. This position involves preparing and reviewing engineering plans, providing specialist advice on flooding and water quality, and contributing technical expertise to various project teams. As a senior member of the team, you will also mentor junior staff and may occasionally act as a team leader.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in civil or environmental engineering with extensive experience in stormwater and flooding assessments.
In addition to technical expertise, you will demonstrate strong leadership qualities.
Suitable candidates are subject to pre‑employment screening which includes Reference Checks, Work Rights Verification, Identity and Functional/Medical History Checks, and will also include a Criminal History, Qualification and Working with Children Check.
