Job summary

Lake Macquarie City Council invites applications for a Senior Stormwater Drainage Engineer to lead planning and management of the city’s drainage assets within the Infrastructure Asset Management Team. You will help ensure the network remains safe, sustainable and resilient for future generations.

This role combines technical expertise, strategic asset management and stakeholder engagement to deliver meaningful community outcomes through evidence-based decisions and collaborative problem solving.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience with stormwater infrastructure and practical solutions.
• Knowledge of asset management principles, lifecycle planning and renewal programming.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and management of stormwater drainage assets.
• Develop asset management plans and renewal programs.
• Provide specialist stormwater engineering advice on infrastructure, risk and performance.
• Identify and prioritise future drainage improvement opportunities through assessment and planning.
• Manage investigations, feasibility assessments and capital works planning.
• Mentor and support colleagues through technical leadership and peer review.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to achieve effective outcomes.
