Job summary

Lake Macquarie City Council is seeking a Senior Stormwater Drainage Engineer to lead planning and management of the Lake Macquarie stormwater drainage network within the Infrastructure Asset Management Team. Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Experience assessing stormwater and drainage infrastructure
• Knowledge of asset management principles, lifecycle planning and renewal programming
• Experience preparing technical documentation, reports and engineering advice
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills
• A Class C Driver's Licence

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and management of Council's stormwater drainage assets
• Develop asset management plans, lifecycle models and renewal programs
• Provide specialist engineering advice on stormwater infrastructure, risk and asset performance
• Identify and prioritise future drainage improvement opportunities through assessment, analysis and planning
• Manage investigations, feasibility assessments and capital works planning activities
• Mentor and support colleagues through technical leadership and peer review
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to achieve effective outcomes for the community
• Support compliance obligations relating to declared dams, stormwater programs and associated infrastructure initiatives
