Job summary

Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service is seeking a Senior Speech Pathologist to deliver speech pathology services to adult and paediatric patients across Innisfail Hospital and satellite sites. You will join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving patient care in a rural generalist setting.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate detailed knowledge of the continuum of care and apply professional judgement to a complex varied caseload, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence, to establish and deliver efficient and effective services.
• Contribute to planning and development of Cassowary Allied Health service and CHHHS Speech Pathology services clinical practices and procedures using the principles of evidence-based practice.
• Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning and by engaging in professional development activities.
• Provide regular clinical education to pre-entry level clinical students and frequent clinical practice supervision to allied health assistants and less experienced speech pathologists.
