Job summary

HomeTeam Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Sous Chef for LuLó at 70 Eagle Street, Brisbane CBD. You will support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, lead kitchen staff, and ensure high standards of food quality, presentation and efficiency in a fast-paced venue.

The role offers a 38-hour week, Monday to Friday, with a base annual salary of $80,000 plus superannuation. Previous breakfast, lunch and tapas-style menu experience is valued, with opportunities for growth within the HomeTeam

Qualifications

Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
Minimum three years of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen with supervisory responsibilities.
Experience supervising and training kitchen staff.
Strong knowledge of professional cooking techniques, food preparation and kitchen operations.
Experience with menu preparation, recipe development and food presentation.
Sound knowledge of food safety and OH&S requirements.
Stock control, inventory management, ordering and food cost management.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily kitchen operations in conjunction with Head Chef.
Supervise Commis Chefs, Kitchen Hands and other staff; provide training and support.
Coordinate food preparation, mise en place and service.
Prepare, cook and present high-quality dishes per recipes and standards.
Assist with menu planning, seasonal changes and presentation.
Monitor food quality, portion control and wastage; manage stock and suppliers.
Ensure food safety, hygiene and OH&S compliance.
Assist Head Chef with rostering and kitchen workflow; cover in absence.
