Job summary

San Telmo Brisbane, located in Brisbane CBD, is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join the kitchen leadership team. Working with the Head Chef, you will lead daily kitchen operations, uphold quality, and develop the kitchen team.

This permanent, full-time role offers 38–40 hour weeks, 40% staff discounts across venues, staff meals, and opportunities to progress to Head Chef through structured training and development.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant.
• Strong leadership and people development skills.
• Ability to maintain food quality, portioning and presentation.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations with Head Chef.
• Lead, coach and develop kitchen team.
• Rostering, stock control, food costs and waste reduction.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and workplace safety standards.
