Job summary

Afterpay is seeking a senior Solutions Engineer to drive complex partner and merchant integrations for its global commerce platform. You will work with Sales, Partnerships, and Product to understand customer needs, showcase APIs, and solve challenging technical problems that accelerate adoption.

You will be a senior individual contributor with hands-on software engineering experience, capable of representing Afterpay’s technical vision to global merchants and partners while influencing product

Qualifications

• 8+ years in technical, customer-facing roles with enterprise merchants or partners.
• Hands-on API development, API integrations, and debugging complex implementations.
• Full-stack development experience and ability to learn new tools quickly.
• Strong communication to bridge technical and non-technical audiences, and to influence senior stakeholders.
• Proven success leading technical projects end-to-end in globally distributed teams.
• Solid understanding of payments, fintech or commerce platforms.
• Willingness to travel for onsite client meetings (10-20%).
• Additional languages (eg Mandarin) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales, Relationship Management and Partnerships to support developers integrating with our platform.
• Design and deliver technical solutions, proof-of-concepts, sample integrations, and troubleshooting.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor translating business needs into scalable integration approaches.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to surface customer feedback and influence roadmap.
• Create demos, presentations, and technical deep dives for executives and engineering stakeholders.
• Communicate product features and technical guidance clearly across teams and customers.
