Job summary

Visa Government Solutions in Sydney is seeking a Sr. Manager, Solutions Architect to lead end-to-end solution architecture for government use cases across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or at least 6 years with an Advanced Degree, or at least 4 years with a PhD.
• 5+ years in solution architecture, solution engineering or related client-facing solutioning role.
• Strong pre-sales and solution-design experience translating client needs into viable architectures.
• Knowledge of digital/payments architecture, APIs/SDK integration, and payment infrastructure.
• Designing solutions combining proprietary products and partner capabilities.
• Assess technical feasibility, dependencies and scalability of complex solutions.
• Experience with human-centred design, MVP and rapid prototyping.
• Embedding AI tools in day-to-day work with judgment.
• Strong client/executive communication and stakeholder influence.
• Navigate complex problems balancing commercial and technical considerations.
• Experience with governments or public-sector payments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with sales teams to provide disciplined pre-sales solutioning for priority opportunities in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
• Prioritise solutioning support based on commercial value and complexity, focusing resources where greatest impact.
• Lead end-to-end solution architecture, combining Visa products and ecosystem capabilities.
• Drive solutioning effectiveness across opportunities, tracking progress and resolving barriers.
• Co-create innovative solutions with ecosystem partners using human-centred design and MVP capabilities.
• Provide thought leadership on government payments and digital solutions.
• Contribute solution expertise to go-to-market strategies, roadmaps and commercialisation plans with cross-functional teams.
• Regionalise and apply scalable tools and playbooks for Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands.
• Identify product and capability gaps and inform prioritisation and evolution.
• Visa requires at least 3 days in office, days to be confirmed by Hiring Manager.
