Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant industry experience, ideally in pre-sales or solution engineering.
• Experience with Retail or Telecommunications data, business drivers and stakeholders.
• Excellent presentation skills with technical and executive audiences.
• Ability to build and own senior C-suite relationships.
• Broad experience with large-scale database, data warehouse, ETL, analytics and cloud platforms (Data Lake/Data Mesh/Data Fabric).
• Hands-on SQL analytics and Python skills.
• Ability to map customer business problems to Snowflake solutions.
• University degree in CS/Engineering/Math or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Present Snowflake's AI Data Cloud vision to executives and technical teams at retail and telco prospects.
• Conduct tailored demos, proofs of concept, solution design and implementation planning across the sales cycle.
• Collaborate with Account Executives and channel partners to win deals with new customers.
• Analyze customer architectures and map to Snowflake data architecture, including open lakehouse patterns with Apache Iceberg tables.
• Create use cases such as customer 360, demand forecasting, personalization, churn prediction, and data sharing via Snowflake Marketplace.
• Stay current on competing technologies and position Snowflake clearly against them.
• Work with Product Management, Engineering and Marketing to improve Snowflake's products and messaging.

Senior Solution Engineer, Enterprise Acquisition

We are looking for a Senior Solution Engineer to join our Enterprise Acquisition team in Sydney. You will solve complex problems and help close large deals with new Retail and Telecommunications customers. You'll work with sales and channel partners from first discovery through proof of concept to signed business.

AS A SENIOR SOLUTION ENGINEER AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:

• Present Snowflake's AI Data Cloud vision to executives and technical teams at retail and telco prospects, showing the value of Snowflake Cortex AI, Snowpark and Snowflake Horizon

• Work hands-on through the whole sales cycle: tailored demos, enterprise proofs of concept, solution design and implementation planning

• Work with Account Executives and channel partners to plan and win competitive deals with new customers

• Dig deep into customer architectures and map them to Snowflake's data architecture, including open lakehouse patterns with Apache Iceberg tables

• Build retail and telco use cases such as customer 360, demand forecasting, personalisation, churn prediction, and data collaboration through Snowflake Marketplace and secure data sharing

• Stay current on competing and complementary technologies and position Snowflake clearly against them

• Work with Product Management, Engineering and Marketing to keep improving Snowflake's products and messaging

OUR IDEAL SENIOR SOLUTION ENGINEER WILL HAVE:

• 10+ years of relevant industry experience, ideally in pre-sales or solution engineering

• Proven experience with Retail or Telecommunications organisations, including their data, business drivers and stakeholders

• Excellent presentation skills with technical and executive audiences, whether on a whiteboard or in a demo

• Ability to build and own senior C-suite relationships

• Broad experience with large-scale database and data warehouse technology, ETL, analytics and cloud platforms, including Data Lake, Data Mesh and Data Fabric patterns

• Hands-on SQL, SQL analytics and Python skills

• Ability to connect a customer's specific business problems to Snowflake's solutions

• A university degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related field, or equivalent experience

BONUS POINTS FOR THE FOLLOWING:

• Experience with global systems integrators (GSIs) such as EY, Deloitte or Accenture

• Familiarity with retail data (POS, loyalty, supply chain, ecommerce) or telco data (OSS/BSS, network telemetry, subscriber analytics)

• Hands-on experience building generative AI or ML solutions

• A Masters in Data Science or Business Administration
