Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Tester for Canberra/Brisbane. This expression of interest covers permanent full-time opportunities. You will lead testing activities across the SDLC, develop methodologies, design and execute tests, and manage defects while ensuring traceability to requirements.

NV1 clearance or higher is required. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential. Eligible candidates will be invited to apply, with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test reports across the software development lifecycle.
• Hands-on testing across system integration, regression, verification and performance testing.
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies and test environment management.
• Experience preparing test data and working with databases to support testing.
• Ability to identify, analyse and resolve defects with traceability to requirements.
• Strong stakeholder engagement with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Desirable: Agile, automated testing tools, Defence ICT systems, ISTQB/DO-178C or MIL-STD-498.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain testing methodologies, processes, tools and documentation across the SDLC.
• Plan, design, execute and validate software and system test activities, including test plans and readiness reviews.
• Monitor and communicate test progress, results, risks and issues to stakeholders.
• Perform defect analysis, tracking, reporting and resolution support with project teams.
• Support requirements management and ensure traceability between requirements, testing and outcomes.
• Escalate software, hardware, resource or project issues as required.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to deliver quality software solutions.
