Job summary

Recruitment Hive is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a large Federal Government Organisation in Canberra. The role focuses on national security and emergency management, delivering secure, scalable ICT solutions through hands-on development and cloud adoption.

You will lead technical initiatives, mentor teams, and collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation while ensuring documentation and automated testing practices are in place.

Qualifications

• Experience monitoring and assessing emerging technologies.
• Strong software development lifecycle experience.
• Experience with complex software and systems design.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice to teams and stakeholders.
• Develop, maintain and enable automated performance of unit testing for system components.
• Develop and maintain Azure DevOps Pipelines to manage automated deployments, security scanning and quality assurance.
• Security vulnerability remediation and dependency management.
• Transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure documentation is stored.
• Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies.
