Job summary

Recruitment Hive is assisting a Commonwealth Government organisation in Canberra to recruit a Senior DevOps Engineer. You will design, deploy and support the Agency’s Cloud and Data Infrastructure, ensuring scalable, well-documented solutions that align with integration best practices.

You will lead project teams in an agile setting, prioritising work queues to deliver key initiatives on schedule. Strong AWS/Azure experience and Terraform-based IaC are required to drive CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on AWS and/or Azure cloud experience.
• Experience building CD pipelines with IaC Terraform.
• Experience with GitLab, Artifactory, Jira in DevOps environments.

Job description

Our client, a Commonwealth Government organisation whose focus is to provide support to Australian's living with disability, require the services of Senior DevOps Engineers.

Duties:

• Design, develop, deploy, and support of the Agency’s Cloud & Data Infrastructure
• Prioritise and manage the work queue to ensure timely delivery of key initiatives
• Ensure that all solutions adhere to integration best practices and are well documented
• Playing a key leadership role in project teams, utilising an agile development framework

Skills and Experience:

• Extensive hands‑on experience with AWS and/or Azure infrastructure and services, with proven ability to design, implement, and manage scalable cloud solutions
• Strong experience in building and deploying DevOps practices, tools, and continuous delivery pipelines, including GitLab, Artifactory, and Jira, to streamline development workflows
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform for automating infrastructure provisioning and management
