Job summary

Qantas Group is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to guide architecture, delivery and development of scalable software for our Product Innovation Centre in Adelaide. You will lead technical directions, write high-quality code, and collaborate with partners to meet reliability and security goals.

You will bring 6+ years in software engineering, strong Java/Spring Boot backend, React.js frontend, AWS cloud-native practices, and robust CI/CD with GitHub Actions. Mentoring is encouraged.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in a hands-on Software Engineering role.
• Strong backend experience using Java with Spring/Spring Boot to build scalable APIs.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for frontend and platform-driven implementations.
• Experience with React.js and modern frontend patterns.
• Cloud-native development on AWS with deployment and scaling considerations.
• CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and automated testing practices.
• Experience with observability tools like Splunk or Datadog.

As aSenior Full Stack Developer,you'llbe responsible forguiding and leading the architecture, delivery and development of the software systems that power our business unit.Ahands-on, highly skilled software developer with the experience todive into codeto deliver high quality, well-designed software.You willshareresponsibilityfor the quality of the software being built, including but not limitedto;achieving desired business outcomes, meeting reliability and performance expectations and safely managing security and data privacy concerns.

You'llhave:

• 6+years'in a hands-on Software Engineering role
• Strong experience building high-traffic customer facing web applications across frontend and backend
• Proven backend experience using Java with modern frameworks (e.g. Spring / Spring Boot) to build scalable APIs and services
• Experience working with databases (e.g , PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, etc)
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript, with experience applying these skills across both UI representation and platform-driven, rule-based implementations
• Working knowledge of React.js and modern frontend patterns to support and evolve user experiences
• Solid understanding of cloud-native development on platforms such as AWS, including deployment, scaling, and operational considerations
• Experience and confidence with CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitHub Actions), version control (Git), and automated testing practices
• Experience using observability and monitoring tools (e.g. Splunk, Datadog, or similar) to support production systems
• A real passion for quality, cleancodeand continuous improvement
• A strong understanding of architectural concepts and cloud-based solution design
• Highly dedicated ethos - expected to take very real accountability for the workyou'redoing
• Demonstrable ability to motivate self and others, and a passion to mentor junior developers
• Experience working with technical and non-technical partners, with the capability to influence
• A test and learn mindset with curiosity,collaborationand care
• Experience writing multi-threaded, asynchronous code
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Edge Delivery Services desirable
