Job summary

Qantas Group is seeking a hands-on Front-End Developer for its new Product Innovation Centre in Adelaide. You’ll work on customer-facing web apps, using React and modern front-end tech, with exposure to SSR, design systems, and cloud services.

We value UX, performance, accessibility, and clean code. You’ll join a team delivering scalable systems that power seamless digital experiences for customers and partners.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a hands-on Software Engineering role.
• Experience building high-traffic, customer-facing web apps.
• Strong front-end tech stack: JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS.
• Experience with design systems and reusable components.
• Cloud exposure to AWS (EC2/S3/Lambda) preferred.
• UX and browser performance focus with accessibility.
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with observability tools (Splunk/Datadog or similar).
• Ability to write multi-threaded, asynchronous code.
• Experience with GraphQL and Adobe Experience Manager desirable.

As aFront-End Developeryou will be a hands-on, mid-level skilled software developer with the experience todive into codeto deliver high quality, well-designed software.You willshareresponsibilityfor the quality of the software being built, including but not limitedto;achieving desired business outcomes, meeting reliability and performance expectations and safely managing security and data privacy concerns.

You’llhave:

• 3+yearsin a hands-on Software Engineering role
• Experience building high‑traffic customer facing web applications
• Working experience with front end technologies (i.e JavaScript, React JS, SSR, Micro Front Ends, HTML, CSS, CSS Modules, etc)
• Experience with leveraging design systems and sharing reusable components across repositories
• Knowledge and experience of cloud platforms such as AWS - EC2, S3, Lambda, etc preferred
• A real passion for UX, browser performance and accessibility
• Containerisation technology concepts, such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitHub Actions), version control (Git), and automated testing practices
• Experience using observability and monitoring tools (e.g. Splunk, Datadog, or similar) to support production systems
• A real passion for quality, cleancodeand continuous improvement
• An understanding of architectural concepts and cloud-based solution design
• Highly dedicated ethos - expected to take very real accountability for the workyou'redoing
• A test and learn mindset with curiosity,collaborationand care
• Experience writing multi-threaded, asynchronous code
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Edge Delivery Services desirable
• Experience with consuming GraphQL data desirable
