Job summary

Royal Flying Doctor Service SA/NT in Darwin seeks a Senior SHEQ Advisor to lead Safety, Health, Environment and Quality across NT operations, including TEMRS. The role involves regular travel to Alice Springs and remote communities, partnering with leaders to improve safety outcomes.

You will provide practical advice, assurance and support through mobilisation to ongoing service delivery, working with a multidisciplinary team to meet contractual and regulatory requirements and drive continuous

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in complex, multi-site, remote, high-risk or safety-critical operations.
• Strong knowledge of NT WHS legislation, regs, codes of practice.
• Willingness to travel across the Northern Territory, including remote communities.
• Experience in aeromedical, aviation, healthcare or safety-critical environments is highly regarded.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and influencing and coaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible SHEQ leadership and risk-based advice across NT operations.
• Partner with leaders to identify risks, support controls and verify effectiveness.
• Lead NT implementation of approved critical-risk and critical-control requirements.
• Coordinate SHEQ readiness and assurance activities for TEMRS mobilisation and service delivery.
• Lead or support significant SHEQ investigations and corrective actions.
• Plan and conduct risk-based inspections, audits and operational reviews.
• Provide SHEQ guidance for contractors, facilities and interfaces.
• Support remote and isolated-work controls across NT operations.
• Coach leaders and workers in RFDS SA/NT SHEQ requirements.
• Collaborate with the broader SHEQ team for continuous improvement.
