Job summary

The Royal Flying Doctor Service SA/NT is seeking an experienced Engineering Quality Manager to lead quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across our Engineering, Airworthiness and Maintenance Control functions.

You will oversee audits, investigations, and corrective actions, partnering with engineering leaders and regulators (CASA/ATSB) to continually improve the quality management system in a highly regulated aviation environment.

Qualifications

• Senior aviation engineering/maintenance/quality leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of Australian aviation regs: CAR 30, CASR Part 145, DAMP, TSP.
• Experience in auditing, risk management, investigations and corrective actions.
• Proven leadership with ability to influence across operations and regulatory contexts.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant degree in Engineering, Aviation or related field; lead auditor qualifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continually improve the Engineering and Maintenance Control Quality Management System (QMS).
• Manage internal audits and regulatory assurance activities, including CASA surveillance and close-out of findings.
• Ensure engineering and maintenance activities meet regulatory, safety and quality requirements.
• Lead safety investigations, risk assessments and root-cause analysis with effective corrective actions.
• Provide trusted quality and compliance advice to Engineering, Maintenance Control and senior leaders.
• Build strong relationships with regulators and stakeholders while promoting a safety, quality and continuous improvement culture.
