Job summary

Hitachi Energy Australia Pty Ltd in Smithfield, NSW, is seeking a qualified Project/Program Manager to deliver service projects end-to-end. You will lead project execution, manage invoicing and cash flow, and close projects contractually, while coordinating with suppliers and customers with a strong focus on safety and compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, 5+ years of service project experience, and proficiency in English.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience managing service projects.
Experience with transformer service projects (highly regarded).
Strong communication skills, ownership mindset, and demonstrated leadership capability.
Proficiency in English communication.

Responsibilities

Lead service project execution in alignment with Hitachi Energy policies and best practices.
Oversee invoicing, cost management, expenses, and cash flow.
Ensure formal project closure and contract/claims management.
Coordinate with internal and external suppliers; act as primary interface for customers; manage escalations.
Develop relationships with internal teams and external partners; ensure HSE compliance.
Evaluate equipment drawings, project schedules, HSE documentation; support delivery with execution teams.
Travel locally and overseas as required.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
