Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Melbourne, Victoria, seeks an experienced Service Project Manager to deliver service projects end-to-end, balancing commercial and technical objectives while complying with safety, contractual, and financial requirements.

You will lead project execution, oversee invoicing and cost control, coordinate with suppliers and customers, ensure formal project closure, and travel as required. Strong English communication and SAP knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing service projects.
• Experience with transformer service projects (highly regarded).
• Working knowledge of SAP (order booking, invoicing, etc.).
• Strong communication skills, ownership mindset, and demonstrated leadership capability.
• Proficiency in English communication.

Job description

In this position, you will be responsible for the effective delivery of service projects-covering both commercial and technical aspects-while ensuring that all operations comply with company protocols, contractual obligations, safety regulations, as well as financial and scheduling objectives.

How you'll make an impact:

• You will lead service project execution in alignment with Hitachi Energy policies and best practices. Ensure strong oversight, effective resource use, and consistent project progress also oversee all technical and commercial aspects of service projects, including invoicing, cost management, expenses, and cash flow. Proactively identify risks and opportunities, and ensure lessons learned are documented and shared.
• You ensure each project is formally and contractually closed out, and that completion is acknowledged and accepted by the customer and apply contract and claims management principles throughout the project lifecycle in line with company policies and commitments.
• You work closely with internal and external suppliers to secure required materials, services, and equipment and act as the primary interface for customers and manage any project-related escalations with professionalism and care.
• You will develop trusted relationships with internal teams and external partners, maintaining clear communication at every stage and ensure all project activities comply with Hitachi Energy's HSE policies.
• You will evaluate equipment drawings, project schedules, HSE documentation, transmittals, reports, and all related technical materials also partner with execution teams and manufacturing facilities to support project delivery.
• You need to do local and occasional overseas travel will be required.
• You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
