Job summary

AECOM in Australia seeks a Senior Structural Engineer (NSQEP) to lead complex structural and seismic design across defence, research and nuclear projects. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, robust solutions and develop expertise in safety-critical environments.

You will collaborate with clients, stakeholders and technical specialists while contributing to nuclear safety cases, regulatory submissions and compliance with standards. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 6+ years' experience in structural engineering with complex buildings or seismic work.
• Experience in defence, research, nuclear or highly regulated environments is desirable.
• Proficiency in structural software such as ETABS, SpaceGass, RAPT and FEA packages.
• Progress toward Chartered status or equivalent is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural and seismic design for complex buildings and safety-critical facilities.
• Undertake advanced structural analysis, including seismic assessment and dynamic analysis.
• Prepare calculations, reports and design documentation per project requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
• Support development of nuclear safety cases and regulatory submissions.
• Ensure compliance with Australian and international design standards.
• Contribute to technical excellence through reviews and knowledge sharing.
